When did you realize that you wanted to focus on performing aesthetic services?
About 13 years ago, I overheard talk about laser hair removal. It piqued my interest, and so I attended a conference aimed at educating doctors on the latest aesthetic technologies. It was during this conference that I learned about a new aesthetic compound gaining traction in the medical community called “BOTOX®.” My whole life, I have always enjoyed artistic activities. Botox® reignited my passion for art, and it showed me a world where the medical and artistic meet.
With over 12 years of experience in aesthetic medicine, what have you learned about providing desirable results for all of your patients?
The thing about aesthetics is there is no one specific procedure to make a dramatic impact—it’s about putting it all together. Of course you can administer Botox® to alleviate someone’s crow’s feet, but if their cheeks are still deflated or their temples are hollow or their skin is rough, then it just doesn’t have the same effect. So I’d say my favorite service to provide is “the whole package.” I look at an individual, I assess them, and then I decide what they will need over a period of time. Most likely this will start with Botox®, then transition into the use of some fillers, and then ultimately finish off the surface of the skin with our laser. What I like best about this method is that it allows me to observe people becoming older and older but looking better and better.
Are you still learning new techniques?
Constantly. Almost daily, in fact. I am always combing the Internet to learn and pick out my favorite practices. But my exposure to the aesthetic frontier expands far past the Internet, if you can imagine that! I have attended lots of meetings and tutorials, and I have met with countless specialists and internationally known injectors to hear and see from them how they do what they do. A world-renowned injector, and one of the best in the world, Dr. Mauricio de Maio met with me one-on-one to perform hands-on training. He walked me through his process and showed me exactly what he does to provide world-class results. I meet with the best because I want to be the best. It is always a constant goal of mine to be on the cutting edge.
Is there anything else you feel your clients should know before walking in to Skin Care Fort Worth?
One thing I would like clients to do when they come in is to have a strong idea of what they’re expecting in their mind. Bring some photos of yourself from 10 or 20 years ago. That way we can have some idea of what we’re shooting for because I feel the service I provide is all about creating a better you—not someone else.
