Natural-looking lips that last
Dermal fillers are known primarily for adding volume to the skin where they are injected. While Volbella® is a dermal filler, the amount of gel injected is very small, allowing Dr. Damico to get rid of tiny, but noticeable fine lines and wrinkles that have developed over time.
Fillers come in a variety of formulas. As noted above, Volbella® and other Juvederm®products have hyaluronic acid as their active ingredient. This naturally occurring ingredient plays a critical role in your body by retaining moisture and helping to keep skin smooth and supple.
Over time, hyaluronic acid produced by the body breaks down, and processes that usually replace it slow down. This leads to an increasing loss of volume and hydration in the skin. Together with a similar breakdown in collagen and elastin production, the diminished hyaluronic acid levels cause wrinkles and lines to form. These are known as “static wrinkles”—developing as a result of the loss of beneficial components in the skin—as opposed to “dynamic wrinkles,” which develop due to repetitive muscle movement.
What can I expect from a Volbella treatment session?
Dr. Damico personally handles all of the injections at Skin Care Forth Worth, after first discussing your aesthetic goals during a consultation and determining whether Volbella® truly is the best option for achieving them.
The injections take only minutes to complete, although your appointment time will be around 45min to an hour to allow time for numbing to take effect. Some change will be immediately visible, though some initial swelling will occur. Once “settled,” the effects of Volbella® can last for a year, after which patients who want to continue to enjoy lips free of fine lines can return for another session.
In the pictures shown here, you can see that Dr. Damico was able to give her lips a subtle and natural looking boost in volume. Her lips also look nice and hydrated, thanks to the hyaluronic acid as the active ingredient in Volbella.

How long will Volbella last?
As mentioned above, Volbella lasts up to one year in most people. Everyone’s body will react differently, but the majority of people are still enjoying their results a year after treatment.
According to a study of patients treated with Volbella,
80% (98/123) of people treated experienced improved satisfaction with their lips 1 year later.
75% (92/123) of people treated experienced improved satisfaction with their vertical lip lines 1 year later.
Many people may wonder about having to return for repeat treatments. However, when treated again after 1 year, participants of this study needed less product to achieve their desired results.
How much does Volbella cost?
Volbella is a dermal filler in the Juvederm family that must be sold by the syringe. Syringes are single-patient use only. As such, Skin Care Fort Worth offers Volbella at the price of $450 for a 0.55cc syringe. Since Volbella has such a subtle effect, Dr. Damico says that he will often use 2 syringes of Volbella with patients. This always varies depending on your individual needs and desires. The best way to know how much your treatment may cost is to schedule a free consultation with us! You may do so by calling us at (817) 738-9268 or by filling out a form at the bottom of the page.
