A Nose Job with No Surgery?

Table of Contents (Jump to Section)

Rhinoplasty, or altering your nose, is one of the most-sought after treatments in the cosmetic medicine world. Yet another option, a non-surgical nose job, also offers minor tweaks to improve the appearance of your nose with injectable fillers instead of surgery.

In a matter of minutes, Dr. Damico can give you a new nose with the use of injectable fillers instead of invasive surgery.

While the thought of getting a new nose in under 15 minutes might sound appealing, whether you’re a good candidate for a quickie nose job really depends on your nose’s structure, your history and your doctor’s analysis.

Which fillers are typically used in a non-surgical nose job?

A non-surgical nose job, or liquid rhinoplasty, uses hyaluronic acid fillers like Juvederm® to almost instantly transform your nose. However, Dr. Damico examines everyone’s unique anatomy and may decide that a filler such as Juvederm Voluma® would be a better choice. It all depends on your individual needs!

How long do non-surgical nose job results last?

“The benefit of a non-surgical rhinoplasty is that it is relatively quick and can be done in a treatment room,” said Dr. Barry M. Weintraub, of New York. The procedure itself takes 10 or 15 minutes and there’s minimal recovery time. Patients love that they can immediately see the results. “The drawback is that the result is temporary, and only a few nasal configurations can be appropriately treated with this approach.”

There might be some slight bruising after a non-surgical nose job, but typically there is little to no downtime. Results last between nine months and two years and are reversible. If you don’t like what you see after a non-surgical nose job, Dr. Damico can dissolve the filler and get you back to your pre-procedure nose within 48 hours.

For many, these are distinct advantages of filler treatment as compared to rhinoplastic surgery.

Dr. Damico also offers a saline-only treatment, which you can think of as a trial run. The saline imitates what filler would look like, and then goes away in a matter of days. This can help you avoid a situation where you have to dissolve filler in your nose if you change your mind after treatment.

How much does a non-surgical nose job cost?

Dr. Damico offers the procedure at $995. This price is subject to change, please call to office to confirm before making your appointment.

It’s important to maintain realistic expectations.

Not every nose will work for every face. The celebrity nose you admire might not be the right choice, or even possible for you. Plastic surgeon Dr. Weintraub says that a personalized approach is essential: “It is extremely important to take into account a patient’s specific facial structure — width of cheekbones, length of face, the delicacy of features — and to produce a nose that is harmonious and natural-looking, so the patient appears to not have had any surgery, but to simply be a product of good genetics.”

Dr. Damico agrees with Dr. Weintraub and always takes an artistic full-face approach to achieve aesthetic harmony.

The right nose for you should be all about YOU!

Note that non-surgical nose jobs do come with some risk. “Make sure your doctor is an experienced injector and knows the nasal anatomy,” says Dr. Somenek of Washington, D.C. This will help minimize potential complications. Vascular compromise leading to skin necrosis (death) is “the dreaded risk of non-surgical rhinoplasty,” says New York’s Dr. Dara Liotta.

Who makes a good candidate for a non-surgical nose job?

Doctors agree that non-surgical nose jobs work best to correct minor imperfections.

Adding filler to the nose can:

  • improve tip symmetry, shape and projection
  • even out irregularities along the bridge of your nose
  • make your nose appear straighter
  • raise the nasal bridge
  • bring down nostril rims
  • and camouflage a dorsal hump from the profile view.

“Although you are technically adding volume with filler, the end result is often a nose that appears smaller.”

Dr. Liotta

Just as importantly, patients who are not a good candidate are those who have already had surgical nose corrections or people who have broken their nose before. Our office requires a consultation-only appointment with patients seeking the non-surgical nose job to verify that it is a good treatment choice for you. For those looking to correct any nasal obstruction or chronic breathing issues, non-surgical nose jobs won’t help with those.

Who’s getting non-surgical nose jobs?

More of your peers than you probably realize! As for who’s doing the research, RealSelf data shows 74 percent of interest came from users aged 18 to 34. The lower price tag of a non-surgical nose job compared to a surgical one may make it more appealing.

“For as long as I can remember, I was unhappy with my nose,” writes one young woman in a RealSelf® review. “Being only 19, I wasn’t ready for a permanent change.” Then she learned about non-surgical nose jobs. “I was handed a mirror and in no less than five minutes, I was given a new nose,” she says. “It turned out exactly how I wanted and I couldn’t be happier with it.” (Patient testimonial taken from RealSelf® regarding non-surgical nose jobs and is not based on services received from Dr. Damico at Skin Care Fort Worth.)

Sometimes, fillers just won’t be able to give you the results you want.

If that’s the case, Dr. Damico would recommend a surgeon for rhinoplasty. If Dr. Damico believes you are not a candidate for a liquid nose job, he will be happy to suggest a plastic surgeon in the Dallas/Fort Worth area who will help you achieve the look you want! Expect to spend around $7,500 on a surgical rhinoplasty. (Surgical rhinoplasties are not provided by Dr. Damico at Skin Care Fort Worth.)
