Chemical Peels

Your radiant appearance is ready to be revealed

Chemical peeling is a procedure that causes your skin exfoliation to accelerate as a result of our use of specially formulated chemicals. They are especially useful for diminishing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and roughness. Your skin will be left appearing renewed, healthier and more uniform in complexion! Skin Care Fort Worth offers three types of SkinMedica® chemical peels to help people with differing needs. We can decide which peel is best for you at your initial consultation.

What can I expect during my chemical peel treatment?

Your chemical peel will start with a thorough face cleaning, followed by the application of the peel you decide to receive. Exact steps, both before you arrive and for recovery after you leave, will be determined by the level of peel you choose. The stronger the peel and the deeper it penetrates, the longer the recovery time will be. A light chemical peel can give skin a healthy, youthful glow for months. Deeper peels can generate results that last for years.
Every peel will ultimately result in a sensation similar to a sunburn. The strongest peel may require an anesthetic (topical numbing cream) to maximize the comfort of your chemical peel experience. In the days following your chemical peel treatment, you may experience color change or flaking as your outermost layer of skin falls away. Patients must take extra care to avoid sunlight and other sources of UV radiation while they are healing.
We are confident in our SkinMedica® product line, including the peels described and SkinMedica® sunscreen, for the success and safety of your chemical peel treatment. Laurel, our skin care consultant, is always happy to discuss your skin care regimen, especially as it applies to your chemical peel experience.

Illuminize Peel®

Our gentlest approach

Illuminize Peel® is the gentlest SkinMedica® Peel and is ideal for first-time chemical-peel patients with any skin type. It is also an appropriate choice for people with mild skin imperfections, people who desire a more uniform complexion, or people who are looking for brighter skin with no downtime. Most patients will see results after just one peel, even as they leave our office!

Will I peel after receiving an Illuminize Peel®?

Despite it being called a “peel,” most people can expect to avoid visibly peeling skin as they heal. With Illuminize Peel®, visible peeling is minimal if it does occur. This is due to the gentle, superficial nature of the SkinMedica® Illuminize Peel®.

Vitalize Peel®

Our moderate approach

The SkinMedica® Vitalize Peel® is our most popular chemical peel, and although it is for people with mild to moderate skin imperfections, it is still appropriate for all skin types. This level of chemical peel is capable of diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Another attractive quality of this peel is its ability to improve skin tone unevenness due to acne scarring and other pigmentary changes with minimal downtime. It retains the benefits of our more gentle peel as well, enhancing skin texture and brightness. You will have noticeable results after just one peel, but may experience a more complete resolution of your concerns after three to six peels.

Will I peel after receiving a Vitalize Peel®?

You will experience visible peeling after a Vitalize Peel®. Peeling will likely begin around the third day after your appointment, although downtime with this peel is still considered minimal. You may notice that your face appears red after your treatment, but you can expect the redness to go away completely after you have finished your peeling process.

Rejuvenize Peel

Our strongest approach

This chemical peel is the strongest peel offered by SkinMedica® and in addition to smoothing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and roughness, it is known simply for improving your overall skin condition. It is ideal for patients with moderate to severe skin imperfections, including skin unevenness due to acne scarring or other pigmentary changes. Like the Vitalize Peel®, you will have noticeable results after just one peel, but will continue to improve with additional peels.

Will I peel after receiving a Rejuvenize Peel?

The degree of peeling may vary but can range from mild flaking to peeling in sheets. By speeding up the exfoliation process of your skin, the healthy skin underneath is revealed resulting in an improvement of your skin’s overall appearance.

Beyond chemical peels

If you’ve come here looking for a solution to your wrinkles, Botox is just about the best thing since sliced bread. Botox, when used together with dermal fillers, can give you a natural looking, balanced, and youthful appearance. Dermal fillers are the types of product Dr. Damico uses to smooth wrinkles near your mouth and nose, give structure and volume to your lips, and restore your profile by placing volume in the chin.
Patients seeking a revitalized look can also consider MicroNeedling with PRP, which is a minimally invasive treatment that reduces the appearance of fine lines and blemishes by triggering new collagen production.
